James Hillier Blount, most known as James
Blunt, was born on 22nd of February of 1974 in Tidworth. James is an English singer-song writer and he became famous
in 2005 with his first album called “Back to Bedlam” and his single “You’re
beautiful”, the one that I have chosen to speak about.
His musical
style is a mix of different musical genres in which are included pop, rock and
folk. In 2007, he presented his second album called “All the Lost Souls” and he
got the “Gold Record” in the first week from the launch.
Before
starting his musical career, he had served in the British Army as an oficial of
the Life Guards regiment and he had also taken part, in 1999, in the OTAN in
Kosovo.
In 2007,
“You’re Beautiful” received three Grammy’s prices as the Best Song, the Best
I have
chosen this song because it brings me lots of remembers from my trip to England
this summer, not because it’s his most famous single. It also helps me to relax
myself when I’m too stressed and I really like the lyrics, although I accept
that they’re quite sad and a little negative.
James Blunt
wrote this song in 2004 thinking of his ex-girlfriend. They broke up and after
all, she went with another man. The lyrics of the song tells about the feelings
of the singer when, once, he saw her with her new boyfriend.
As a
curiosity, the videoclip was filmed in Mallorca, where James has been living
for many years.
I also like
another singles of James Blunt such as: “1973”, “Stay the night”, “Goodbye my Lover”…and
so on. He’s a very good singer and he still has a huge career ahead.
